The multifunction handle, with worldwide patent-pending technology, is unique to the EHEIM ecco filter. This is how it works. In addition to locking and unlocking the filter and use as a carrying handle, it functions as a priming device. After simply connecting the intake and output hoses, and arranging your media baskets, move the multifunction handle down to the start position. The water flow will begin. When the filter is full, just plug and play.

The filter comes complete with media, fittings, and valves. The convenient interlocking media baskets allow for versatility in media setup while preventing water by-pass. With proper media setup, a long service life can be expected, on average 3-6 months between cleanings.

The intake and output hose attachments are designed to swivel 360 degrees to ensure kink-free hose connections. A silicone-based integrated o-ring ensures leak-free secure operation. With a new handy impeller cover, annual impeller maintenance could not be easier.

As with all EHEIM canister filters, the ecco impeller drive is outfitted with ceramic shaft and carbon bearing to ensure silent operation.

New PUSH II PRIME Pump Head:  

Thanks to the ingenious "PUSH II PRIME" pump head, the new Pro II filters are the easiest canister filters to prime.  Depressing the pump head automatically activates the integrated priming system, instantly starting water flow into the filter unit.  Once the canister has completely filled with water, just "plug and play".

New Maintenance Indicator:  Allows a visual check of the current filter condition, taking the guess work out of planning filter maintenance.  At a single glance, the position of the flow ball indicates the current filter status.

New Auto Valve Release System:  Combines quick disconnection and shut-off valves into one easy to operate unit.  By simply pulling back on the special combi-lever and releasing the safety latch, the "Auto-Valve Release" system is set in motion.  The internal ball valves are closed and the hoses are detached without spilling a drop.  Re-attachment is just as easy.  Place the auto-valve back into the pump head and push down the combi-lever.  The valves are opened and the auto-valve is securely locked in place.

The connecting pipes simply replace the usual intake pipe and making filling of the suction (intake) side with aquarium water simple.

The cycle is thereby closed and the water enters the filter automatically. Suitable for all makes of external filters with a tap on the suction (intake) side. If no tap is present,then a suitable tap must be fitted.
